Description
Post-Doctoral Research Fellow - Nanomedicine
Masonic Medical Research Institute (MMRI) is seeking a full-time POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW - NANOMEDICINE to join our team.
About the Position
This position, within the McCarthy group at the MMRI, focuses on the development of polymeric nanomaterials for the site- and cell-specific inhibition of pathways of interest in a number of pathologies, including cardiovascular disease, tissue fibrosis, bone generation, and transplant rejection. These cutting-edge projects involve extensive collaborative interactions with clinicians and researchers from across a gamut of specialties. As part of this position the applicant will receive extensive training in molecular imaging and the development of materials for potential translational use.
About the Institute
Established in 1958, the MMRI has been at the forefront of cardiovascular research for over 60 years. The institute has recently undergone a renaissance, strengthening our expertise in cardiovascular medicine and expanding into other areas, including neurodegeneration and autoimmunity. In addition, the laboratory and vivarium spaces have been completely renovated facilitating the groundbreaking research that our investigators are undertaking. Our vision is to build scientific teams that can combine molecular biology, chemistry, computation, technology and engineering to create novel approaches to understanding and deciphering causes of disease. Using this knowledge, we will advance basic research to clinical application, therapeutics and cures.
Requirements
