I. POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Neighborhood Assistant will provide clerical and resident care support as assigned.

II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Assists in maintaining a clinical chart with information that is current, accurate, easily retrievable, and readily available for each resident on the unit. Provides technical/secretarial support according to the current task list. Assists with training of new staff. Assists with the maintenance of procedural manuals. Provides support to peers as necessary due to absences.
• Supports compliance with regulatory agencies and facility policy by assuring a display of required postings and by completing quantitative chart audits. Accurately codes diagnoses as necessary for reimbursement and to provide an accurate diagnostic database.
• Processes information upon resident admission, transfer, discharge, and death.
• Releases information in accordance with established legal guidelines, HIPPA regulations, and Masonic Charity Foundation’s policies to residents, family members, insurance companies, health care facilities, etc., in a prompt and courteous manner. Maintains statistics and monitors trends as requested.
• Maintains personal competence by reading and attending educational programs and meetings as required or requested.
• Assists with resident transfers and care within the scope of CNA certification as required.
• Provides routine maintenance of medical equipment as assigned.
• Greets all visitors and residents on admission and assists with needs as they arise.
• Faxes and scans all medical records as appropriate.

JOB/ POSITION DESCRIPTION
• Prepares and/or schedules lab, X-ray, medical appointments as needed.
• Schedules salon appts and assists with transfer as requested.
• Responds to call bells.
• Assist with meals/tray delivery.
• Ensures discharge paperwork is ready.
• Escorts discharged residents to vehicles.
• Collects linens/personal belongings of residents discharged to the hospital.
• Places work orders for the neighborhood, including room turnovers.
• Makes room ready for new admissions.
III. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
IV. KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
•Covid vaccination highly recommended; Flu vaccine required, both in accordance with the CDC guidelines.
• Must be comfortable working with COVID-positive patients.
V. LICENSES/ CERTIFICATIONS
• Current Nursing Assistant certification required.
