What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server position at Massilia?
Massilia is a casual fine dining restaurant on 4th street in amazing Santa Monica. We are located in a prime tourist area a few blocks from the beach. A lot of our business is driven by tourists and people visiting Santa Monica from all over the world. Our restaurant has a very international cuisine based on the Moroccan, Spanish, Italian and French Foods of Marseille. We have multiple menus including breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. Our broad menu has something for everyone and can vary from delicious salads to slow braised lamb shank. Our guests love our food and the fun environment they enjoy it in.
While we want our guest experience to be fun and casual, we are seeking hospitality professionals who are passionate about service, food, and beverage. Our wine list and food menu oftentimes leave guests with a lot of questions if they are unfamiliar with the type of cuisine or wine regions. Our servers must be able to guide our guests through their experience in a way that makes them feel very special and well taken care of.
As we get busier, each employee on the floor will find themselves helping in many different areas. Each person must sometimes bus, run food, or help the host. Our work environment is very team oriented. As we have a smaller dining area compared to pre-Covid times, we staff minimally.
This is a French-owned and run company with many other locations in the business family and many more opening in the future. It is a great company to work for and there will be many more opportunities in the future. When Massilia can reopen fully as before, there will be many more shifts for our employees. We have a large following and many regulars which have allowed us to stay open throughout the pandemic.
