Job Summary
The Aerial Lineman Trainee is responsible for installing line and cables (including fiber) using various construction equipment. The Aerial Lineman Trainee will also be responsible for inspecting previously installed infrastructure to make sure it’s working properly.
Responsibilities
- Install and/or repair aerial CTV, coaxial and fiber cable
- Placing, relocating, and removing poles, lines, open wire, drop and block wire to maintain efficient operation of the customer’s facilities
- Set up safety perimeter using signage, cones, and safety barriers
- Lead Groundman in daily work to safely complete jobs
- Direct traffic in accordance with local DOT guidelines as necessary
Qualifications
- 1 year of experience in telecommunications construction required
- Knowledge and understanding of OSHA safety requirements to complete the job(s) safely
- Ability to climb/Gaff poles correctly
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Ability to read and understand work orders
- Ability to identify aerial equipment
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced and quickly changing environment
- Ability to work on call including evenings and weekends as needed
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to work and climb up to 35 feet
- Ability to lift to 70 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license required
