Used Car Manager

Job Summary:
Master Chevrolet Cadillac in Aiken, South Carolina is seeking a dynamic and experienced Used Car Manager to oversee our extensive inventory of pre-owned vehicles. This individual will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the used car department, including purchasing, pricing, and sales. As a key member of our team, the Used Car Manager will play a crucial role in driving sales and profitability while providing exceptional customer service.

• $125,000 - $175,000 per year based on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage daily operations of the used car department, including purchasing, pricing, and sales
• Review and analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and inventory to determine optimal pricing strategies
• Collaborate with sales team to develop and implement effective sales strategies for pre-owned vehicles
• Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure a diverse selection of quality pre-owned vehicles
• Negotiate trade-ins and purchase of used cars from wholesalers and private sellers
• Train and develop sales team on effective techniques for selling pre-owned vehicles
• Ensure all used vehicles are properly reconditioned and inspected before being placed on the lot for sale
• Monitor and manage the profitability of used car sales, making adjustments to achieve maximum profits
• Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by resolving any issues or concerns related to pre-owned vehicle sales
• Ensure all necessary paperwork and documentation is completed accurately and timely
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends, changes, and best practices to continuously improve the used car department

Requirements:

• At least 3-5 years of experience in a managerial role in the automotive industry
• Extensive knowledge of pre-owned vehicle sales and the used car market
• Proven track record of success in achieving sales goals and profitability in a used car department
•  Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in using dealership management systems and online sales tools
• Prior experience with GM vehicles preferred
