Description

Position Summary

The formulator’s responsibility is to gather ingredients for the scheduled batch cards. IT is the formulator’s responsibility to make sure the ingredients are placed in the order that they are going to be put in the mixer. The formulator will then place the ingredients on pallets with labels for the formulation driver to pick up.  The formulator must have the lead sign off on completed batch cards before the formulation driver delivers them to the scheduled mixing room.

Essential Functions

• Complete a pre-operational check and have them checked, verified, and signed by the lead of your department.
• Obtain a production schedule for the day from the formulation lead.
• Review the previous shifts production report to complete any unfinished tasks and report any problems that were encountered. Verify all materials left in the mill from previous shift are properly labeled with correct codes and lot numbers.
• Request ingredients from the lead to put in a request to inventory.
• Weigh out each ingredient needed.
• Check the accuracy of the scales throughout the day.
• Keep track of the batch cards with allergens and koshers
• 2^nd check formulated ingredients with ingredients listed on the batch card.
• Have the lead approve each batch card with the formulated ingredients and sign off the batch card.
