Position Overview: The Manufacturing Planner will play a crucial role in planning manufacturing operations while ensuring efficient utilization of resources and meeting quality standards. This position requires strong organizational skills, technical insight, and the ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams within a machine shop and fabrication shop environment.
Responsibilities:
- Creating manufacturing work orders describing sequenced internal and external manufacturing operations and detailed instructions based on requirements provided by engineering department and customer specifications.
- Reviewing work orders, drawings, and specifications to determine machining and fabrication requirements.
- Optimizing production workflows and identifying opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
- Collaborating with cross functional teams to ensure machining and fabrication process documentation aligns with actual manufacturing approach, to meet quality standards and customer requirements.
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor's or Associates degree in manufacturing engineering, manufacturing technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical manufacturing planning within a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
- Highly proficient at reading machining and fabrication drawings and technical specifications, including GD&T.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, CNC programming, and tooling requirements.
- Experience with ERP systems or production planning software is preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
