Job Description

This position operates under the direct supervision of the Machine Room Supervisor. The position will operate a CNC Panel Saw Machine and is responsible of maintaining set production rates.  They are also responsible for ensuring the machine produces high quality products, runs smoothly and at capacity, and is properly maintained.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Will perform repetitive stretching and reaching using both hands while repositioning, unloading and stacking cut parts.
• Will setup and confirm machine settings as dictated by the materials being processed and route
• Responsible for taking care of routine machine maintenance while checking off TPM and Quality Inspection Sheets as well as Tooling Logs.  Also performs housekeeping of area as needed daily.
• Can read and understand necessary paperwork (labels) to facilitate the production order.
• Responsible for performing hourly checklist.
• Responsible for completing daily production records.
• Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the assigned machine.
• Follow and comply with all safety standards including Lock Out, etc. 
• Inspects parts for quality
• Participates in physical inventory
• Must have good attendance
• Will complete daily maintenance checklist and record any concerns
• May rotate into other positions as needed and as instructed by supervision or representative
• Maintains work area consistent with 5S program and training
• Notify lead or supervisor of issues related to quality and completion
• Assume other duties as assigned by department manager. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:                                           

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:     

Prefer high school diploma or equivalent. One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to use metric systems and understand simple conversions.

Reading for information & Reasoning:

Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. 

Computer Skills:        

Basic computer skills.

• Able to stand and walk on concrete floor for 8 plus hours with multiple breaks. 
• Manual dexterity required for use of tools to include tape measure, safety blade, pliers, calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools.
• Able to reach at full arm’s length a distance of 0 to 36 inches in varying directions including upward to eye level frequently.
• Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Able to stoop, bend, walk and use of hands 100% of time.
• Able to carry up to 50 pounds frequently. Large boards will require team lifts.
• Able to perform repetitive motion tasks for the duration of working shift such as:
  • Frequent change in torso/back position
  • Frequent finger dexterity
  • Frequent simple grasp and flexion

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee can be exposed to extreme heat and cold temperatures and must be able to tolerate temperature changes.  Working conditions include exposure to: noise, fumes, dust or airborne particles, hot and cold surfaces and sharp edges. The noise level in the work environment is often loud.
