- This position requires compliance with MSHS’ compliance standards, including the Code of Conduct, Compliance Program, and policies and procedures. Such compliance will be considered part of the regular performance evaluation.
- Provides direct team-based primary care services.
- Performing all things necessary or desirable to maintain and improve Employee’s professional skills. This includes attending professional conventions and postgraduate seminars and participating in professional societies at the request or with the consent of the DMS.
- To the extent permitted by law and applicable standards of professional ethics, actively promotes the interests (business and otherwise) of the Clinic.
- Keeps and maintains appropriate records relating to all professional services rendered and attends to all billing reports, claims, and correspondence required with the services rendered.
- Is and remains duly licensed by the State of Alaska to practice without restrictions and complies with and is otherwise controlled and governed by the ethics and standards of care of the medical community in which the services are provided.
- Maintains status as a provider under and in compliance with the rules and regulations of the Medicare and Medicaid programs, managed-care and direct contracting arrangements, and any other programs in which the Clinic participates.
- Abides by the schedule of hours formulated by the Clinic.
- Cooperates with other employees in all reasonable manners.
- Maintains confidentiality of individual’s health records and information as required by law.
- Performs in a diligent and timely manner such duties as set forth by this description.
- Adheres to documentation submission standards outlined in MSHS’ policies and procedures.
- Work is performed onsite in a heated, ventilated, and well-lighted environment.
- Job is considered low-risk for hazard exposure.
- MSHS is a nonsmoking campus.
- Requires sitting, standing, bending, reaching, lifting under 50 lbs., and driving.
- Requires manual dexterity to operate standard office and other equipment.

Minimum Education And Experience
- Physician Assistant Degree from an accredited University.
- Current Alaska Physician Assistant’s license.
- The Alaska State Medical Board recognizes the current approved Collaborative Plan.
- Have general knowledge of EMR/EHR software and Microsoft Office programs
- Clear background check (subject to DHSS background check)
- Current tuberculosis screening test result
- Current driver’s license; clean driving record history
- BLS certification must be obtained within two weeks of hire. CPI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) certification must be obtained when offered through the agency; it may substitute the current MANDT certificate for CPI.
