The Climate Change Analyst will provide market research and business development support across all activities associated with business development for climate change. The analyst will possess strong market intelligence, and experience in business development including working with and establishing relationships with partners and clients in the climate change ecosystem. The analyst will contribute to the development of a robust climate change pipeline and specific opportunities to grow Mathematica’s work in climate change.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in and manage the workplan for climate change strategy and climate change pipeline working closely with the VP’s office of climate change
- Develop and manage new tools and processes for the development of new business opportunities in climate change and partner relationship management
- Lead knowledge management regarding business development and market research to help identify opportunities and monitor industry trends in coordination with the strategy team
- Monitor, analyze, and report on business development practices and metrics
- Actively identify and support key opportunities
- Prepare and create the development of business development materials; ie. 2 pagers, tailored capes, etc.
- Work closely and collaborate with communications on implementation of communication strategy to business development communications strategy
- Actively engage with business development associates across all divisions in Mathematica
- Provide informal guidance to new team members collaboratively and diplomatically
- Network with partners in the international development and climate change ecosystem
- Prepare business development and writing proposals
- Actively support the advancement of organizational diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, and apply diversity, equity and inclusion lens across job responsibilities
- Demonstrate accuracy with work, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Strong writing and communications skills
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed
- Knowledge of the funding priorities and mechanisms of donors
- Flexibility to handle multiple priorities, sometimes simultaneously, under deadline pressure
Position Requirements:
- BS with equivalent experience in business management, economics, public policy, or relevant discipline. Master’s degree preferred
- A combination of equivalent education and work experience may be substituted for the above requirements
- 5 years of experience in business development in climate change or related fields (e.g. energy, agriculture, resilience) with key international development clients, particularly USAID

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of $65,000-$90,000.
