Position Summary
Contact delinquent customers for payments. Research and resolve all inquiries and payment discrepancies related to assigned accounts. Maintain credit files; reviewing credit status and limits on problem and new and existing customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Position Accountabilities
1. Utilize judgment in scheduling collection and follow-ups on delinquent accounts. Must maintain detailed, neat, and accurate credit files.
2. Respond to all customer inquiries both verbal and written. Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies and disputed billings.
3. Apply payments to customer accounts.
4. Review credit worthiness of existing customers and obtain credit information on new customers. Recommend changes in extension or reduction of credit.
5. Heavy phone contact and correspondence with customers, sales force, and branches.
6. Plan and organize own work schedule under general supervision using company policies and procedures.
7. Accept, authorize and apply credit card payments and transaction with confidential and accurate application.
8. Responsible for obtaining payments from delinquent customers. Accurately apply, making adjustments to reflect any payment discrepancy.
9. Collaborate with sales team to minimize AR aging and avoid bad debt
10. Prepare summarization of accounts for upper management.
10. Refers unusual problems to Supervisor and Site managers.
12. Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

LOCATION AND HOURS OF WORK Typical hours for this position are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at MATHESON’s Newark, CA location. This is a full-time position and upon the request of the supervisor overtime may be requested on an occasional basis.


QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School education.
Bookkeeping & typing minimum 50 WPM.
Ten key by touch
Knowledge of AS400 or hot key based systems.
Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
Computer/CRM experience, one/two years A/R and/ or collection experience.
Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook E-mail).
Excellent written communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills. Ability to establish and manage customer relationships.
Excellent telephone communications skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively to customers, clients, vendors or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percents.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
