The Importance of this Role

As the Principal Product Designer at Matic, you will be the voice of the user and help build experiences that make complicated insurance decisions clear, easy, and transparent. Your vision will lay the groundwork for how users feel about interacting with Matic and will be critical for the success of Matic’s user-centric approach to solutions.

 

Your Responsibilities 

  • Partner with our agency, product management and engineering teams to translate user insights into a world class internal CRM (customer relationship management).
  • Develop research plans and execute them to better understand our user’s desires and motivations.
  • Champion a vision for the future of our internal products and drive them to completion.
  • Help grow and mentor our design team and culture within the organization.
  • Create strong partnerships with our teammates in Lviv, San Francisco, and Columbus.
  • Scale our design language to accommodate the ever growing needs of our products.

 

Job Requirements 

  • 6-8 years of relevant design experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates your design skill and an understanding of user-centered design.
  • Proficiency in standard design & prototyping tools (Figma, sketch, Invision, Adobe creative suite, etc.).

 

Bonus Points 

  • Experience working with agile teams in a startup environment.
  • A deep understanding of both qualitative and quantitative user research processes.
  • Experience designing enterprise software.
