Salary Range: $60,000 to $80,000. Salary is contingent upon experience.
Summary:
Working in a collaborative manner with Matrix landscape architects, civil engineers, planners, and technical staff, the ideal candidate would have knowledge and a background in project management and leading project teams. The candidate would be responsible for serving as a technical specialist to develop, plan and manage projects for a range of community design and land planning projects. Matrix is involved in a wide variety of community planning projects including annexations, zoning, community master planning, land use, urban design, open space, parks and recreation, and public engagement.
- Execute entitlement and community planning activities for diverse clientele, various jurisdictions, and a wide range of project types
- Assists the team in the coordination and preparation of letters, project reports, memorandums, and submittal packages
- Prepare site inventory and analysis including assessment of opportunities and constraints
- Provides graphic support to the team and assists in preparation of presentation materials
- Project management assistance for small to mid-size projects to include budgeting, scheduling, prioritizing multiple tasks, and deadlines
- Work in a collaborative, team environment toward successful project products and outcomes.
- Meet with clients and their representatives as an individual or part of a team to explain details, resolve issues, answer questions, and maintain good relations
Competencies:
- Superior technical writing skills
- Ability to research and interpret zoning code, land development guidelines, community planning concepts, and technical design criteria manuals
- Prepare technical written summaries, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations and graphics on a range of community design topics
- Creative problem-solving skills to gather relevant information to solve less well-defined community design issues
- Capacity to integrate a multidisciplinary project approach with planners, engineers, architects, and landscape architects
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Education and Experience:
- Undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited program in Urban or Regional Planning or Landscape Architecture
- Minimum of 3-8 years of relevant work experience in in the field of Community Design & Planning, Urban Planning, or Landscape Architecture
- Familiarity with various residential housing type ranging from Single Family Detached to Higher Density Multi-family products
- Public Speaking and Presentation skills to effectively communicate goals and objectives of projects and graphics a plus
- Familiarity with Sketch Up or similar program, AutoCAD, or InDesign a plus
- Business development and marketing a plus
- Valid Driver's License
