Responsibilities

ABOUT THE JOB: 

 

Type: Full-Time  

Location: Remote. Work from home. 

Days and Shift Hours: Monday - Friday general corporate hours based on business needs. Flexibility required. 

Rate of Pay:  $155,000 - $205,000 annual DOE. STI 25% annual eligible.

Position Overview:

 

The Sr. Director of Strategic Communications oversees organizational communications strategies and programs for Matrix Medical Network.  This role is pivotal in shaping and executing business communication strategies to drive company goals and objectives, enhance employee engagement, build positive public perception, and foster positive relationships with key stakeholders.

 

This role also collaborates with business leaders to ensure comprehensive organizational communication, initiative implementation, and timely delivery of messaging.  Extensive experience in rolling out strategic business initiatives aligned with external marketing is a critical success factor in building out the communications function at Matrix.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to provide strategic counsel on communications initiatives, ensuring consistency and alignment with organizational messaging.
  • Bring a strategic lens to company initiatives, finding gaps and silos to ensure macro and micro approaches are included in the final approach and implementation of work streams.
  • Work closely with the CEO, CHRO, and senior leaders to set the tone, topics, and cadence for internal enterprise messaging.
  • Work with external partners and in-house colleagues on marketing and external communications initiatives, message development, and dissemination.

Internal Communications:

  • Collaborate with key business leaders on strategic business objectives to ensure comprehensive communication, decision, implementation, and delivery of information.
  • Work with partners to develop and implement executive communications programs to elevate the image of the CEO and other executives internally and externally.
  • Develop campaigns and initiatives that enhance employee engagement, foster a positive organizational culture, and promote understanding of company objectives.
  • Determine best usage of communication channels and tools to facilitate information flow within and for the organization.
  • Maintain an eye for budget-available communications platforms, tools, and vendors for added value in project management flow for the company.
  • Produce CEO and C-Suite communications content through thought leadership initiatives and topics that are foundational to the company’s new culture, mission, vision, and core values.
  • Utilize innovative techniques and tactics to communicate the voice of the CEO, executives, and senior leaders expressing the correct tone to help leaders connect with team members through clear, concise language.
  • Point person, supported by partners, on All People Leaders and Town Hall meetings, including talking points, agendas, deck, and video creation management.
  • Engage team members and internal/external stakeholders on creative initiatives that build transformation through a data and systems approach to process and best practices.
  • Collaborate with partners to build the company’s storytelling and message development narrative in line with brand, culture, and company goals/objectives.
  • Partner with external teams in ensuring Matrix employees, members, clients, and stakeholders experience an end-to-end repositioning of the company’s culture, strategy, and visual identity.

Media Relations:

  • Respond and/or triage media inquiries with CEO, CHRO, and executive team leaders on all media inquiries.
  • Proactively engage the media in the trade and consumer spaces to elevate brand, mission, and enterprise goals/objectives in line with company goals and objectives.
  • Serve as point person on crisis communications issues that surface in the media.
  • Serve as company's spokesperson, handling media inquiries and triaging requests for information to represent the organization accurately and professionally.
  • Manage vendor and/or external teams on social media strategy, trade shows, conference participation, white paper, and research strategy.

Brand Management:

  • Collaborate with marketing team and/or external partners to align and reinforce repositioning strategy and visual identity among internal and external stakeholders and in the market.
  • With external partners, oversee messaging and positioning, ensuring consistency across all communication channels and materials.

Crisis Management:

  • As appropriate, develop and maintain crisis communication protocols, ensuring the organization's swift ability in responding effectively to potential issues or crises.
  • Lead crisis communication efforts, managing messaging and guiding the team during high-stress situations to protect the company's reputation.
  • Serve as point person on crisis issues including responding to natural disasters that may impact employees, members, and clients.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire company teammates, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment based on Matrix core values and leadership competencies.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members, ensuring their growth and success within the organization.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field (master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in strategic communications, public relations, or related roles, with a proven track record of success in a leadership capacity.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for various audiences using multi-channel strategies.
  • Strong media relations experience.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business goals into effective communication strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare and healthcare IT landscapes and understanding of relevant trends and challenges preferred.
  • Proven experience in crisis communication, risk management, issues management, advocacy, and direct lobbying preferred.

 

Technical Requirements: Hi speed Internet required. Conducive office work space to allow for privacy.
