What are the responsibilities and job description for the Drafter II position at Matrix PDM Engineering?
Job Summary
The Drafter II is responsible for providing general drafting support on various jobs and types of work. This includes doing some layout and design work, as directed.
Essential Functions
- Actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.”
- Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.”
- Correct drawings.
- Pick-up red marks from Checker.
- Produce new drawings.
- Perform basic layouts.
- Perform additional responsibilities, as directed.
Qualifications**
- Entry level position with completion of either 1) a Bachelor’s degree, or 2) two Associate’s degrees in Drafting Technology, Drafting & Design Engineering Technology, Computer-Aided Drafting & Design (CADD) or related fields.
- In lieu of BS degree or equivalent 4 years of study, 2 years’ related drafting experience with training in basic drafting obtained through completion of a 2-year community college or trade school is acceptable.
- Training in AutoCAD and/or Inventor preferred.
- Basic knowledge/understanding of appropriate standards, i.e., API.
- Understanding of general math and trigonometry functions.
- General understanding of field construction and the ability to do complex layouts.
- General computer knowledge.
