SAP PM Data Analyst

Large Oil and Gas company based in Houston, TX is hiring an SAP Data Analyst who will serve in aCost Control role and reporting to the Bakken Asset Facilities Engineering and Construction Manager. This is a long-term consulting role (Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week) that is expected to last 12 months.This is a hybrid role that requires working 3 days/week onsite with work on Fridays and one other day during the week remote.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced cost analyst who has a finance and budget management background. Youwill be responsible for extracting information from SAP and generating Spotfire pages; these pages will allow engineers to use cost data in a meaningful way. You will be on a teamthat is working on a program that will allow the company to better estimate spend through project execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will focus on providing enhanced visibility of spend, variance to budgets, and support to the engineering and construction teams. The Facilities Engineering and Construction teams complete a high number of projects on an annual basis and they are looking for a highly motivated consultant to help them understand and control their cost through reports and visualizations.

• Analyze spend across multiple projects.
• Develop and maintain tools / processes to communicate status of spend against budget through project execution.
• Maintain oversight of key budgets, ensuring clarity of information and communication between engineering, accounting and planning groups during planning cycles.
• Support monthly variance analysis and reporting.
• Conduct deep dive analyses of projects.
• Liaise with Engineering and Construction teams to identify causes of variance.
• Develop processes and tools to improve knowledge and efficiencies within the teams related to variance reporting and analysis.
• Propose and lead changes to existing processes where opportunities are identified

REQUIRED AND HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS

• Software: Strong skills in SAP PM (required), Spotfire (preferred), Excel (required).
• Must be capable of extracting data from SAP PM and presenting in a clear and concise manner that is user friendly to the team and managers.
• Team Work: Capable of integrating into, and becoming a key contributor to, a well-established team.
• Must be the type of person who actively seeks feedback andassistance from others as necessary, as well as someone who provides feedback as appropriate.
• Communication: Capable of taking complex information and communicating to an audience in a simplified and concise manner.
• Able to present confusing information in a simplistic manner both verbally and written.
• Technical Professional Knowledge and Skills: Highly skilled in cost tracking, analysis, budget oversight.
• Managing Priorities: Effectively managing time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently. A self-motivator requiring minimal oversight.
• Must be driven, detailed, and goal oriented individual with strong cost analysis, accounting skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• 5 years experience in a cost analyst position.
• SAP PM (required)
• Spotfire (preferred)
• Musthave the ability to manipulate data
• MS Office Suite
• MS Project
