Maintenance Technician - Job Summary:
We’re supporting our client, a leading global equipment tool manufacturer based in Warren, Michigan who are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join their growing team. The successful Maintenance Technicianwill have experience of working within a high-volume tool manufacturing environment.
Salary: $25 - $34 per hour

Responsibilities:
- Evaluates equipment breakdown and conduct basic mechanical/electrical repair.
- Performs work in a safe manner, including using Lockout-Tagout procedures.
- Support plant operations.
- Perform required preventive maintenance on all related equipment.
- Oil and grease equipment, clean and change filters.
- Installs lights, electronic equipment, switches, control panels and all types of electrical, mechanical, and electronic controllers and circuitry.
- Replaces or installs motors, pipes, valves, and other mechanical control devices as required.
- Ensure maintenance sheets and other records are filled out and completed properly.
- Perform general building maintenance for both facilities internal and external.
- Ensure maintenance sheets and other records are filled out and completed properly.
- Support DEQ Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan to meet compliance requirements.
- Interact regularly with contractors and vendors.
- Recommends ordering of parts as needed.
- Performs other general maintenance duties as needed.
- Maintain general housekeeping of the plant and maintenance room.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-20 pounds.
About You:
- 3-5 years’ experience in industrial machine maintenance and repairs
- An understanding of Health and Safety requirements
- Electrical, instrumentation, electronics, and mechanical background
- Must be able to read, interpret and understand drawing schematics.
- Basic understanding of electronic controls and control systems
- Basic understanding of HVAC systems and equipment
- Understanding of Hydraulics/Fluid Power basics and troubleshooting
- Ability to troubleshoot machine and equipment malfunctions.
- Storm Water Permit is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
