Mattson Resources is seeking an experienced Mandarin Bilingual Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager with 5 years of experience. The Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company's overall purchasing, supply chain, inventory, and logistics strategy. This position will implement and maintain a team structure to promote team and organization success. Another primary objective for this role is reducing costs and ensuring high quality materials for production or trade.
Responsibilities
- Hires, trains, and supports department buyers and supervisors
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
- Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of direct reports
- Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain
- Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain
- Develops and maintains detailed inventories of materials and supplies located plants in the U.S., Mexico, Europe, and China
- Maintains required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize production
- Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company
- Develops policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes
- Identifies optimal shipment and transportation routes with attention to consolidation of warehousing and distribution
- Negotiates prices for raw material and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies
- Participates as an advisory member of the product development team, providing information and guidance on availability and cost of supplies and materials
- Acts as part of the team coordinating engineering changes, product line extension, or new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions
- Monitors the performance of supplier s, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments
- Drive continuous improvement and supplier development commodity differentiation, quality, service, and cost with team
- Cleanse Master Data in SAP (Material and Purchasing Master Data)
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain Management; Master's degree preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Prefer candidate with English and Mandarin/Cantonese language fluencies
- Travel required to local U.S. and Mexico plants
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers/carriers/freight forwarders, and internal customers
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Thorough understanding of company products and logistics
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 360
- Proficient with ERP systems such as SAP
- Prior strategic sourcing experience in electronics, cables/wires, plastics, resins, other commodities
- Working knowledge of Consignment, n T, and VMJ
- Must be able to read, write, and create/negotiate contracts
- Strong computer skills, including Excel and Word
- Good math aptitude, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Ability to focus on goal execution
