What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farm Technician position at Mauney Farms?
We are looking for an individual who enjoys working with animals and is dedicated and dependable with reliable transportation. All work is preformed in barns so must be able to tolerate dust, odors, blood, dander, and noisy conditions. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a limited basis. It also involves a lot of walking, and climbing in and over crates.
Must not own or be around pigs to apply.
Main Job Tasks:
Major duties on the sow farm include but are not limited to breeding, heat checking of sows, feeding, watering, castrating piglets, moving sows, cleaning and maintaining animal housing, keeping accurate records of all animals, examine animals for disease, administering vaccinations, and insuring the general well-being of animals.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Training and Experience Requirements:
The employee must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule and the ability to work every other weekend.
Must be capable of following oral instructions or written directions
Must be able to understand written sentences, effectively communicate as well as posses basic math skills.
Must be able to move quickly from one task to the next
Schedule:
Mon-Fri and every other weekend.
Start time is 6:30 am

Pay: From $32,000.00 per year
