The Plant Manager will supervise daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service.
Responsibilities:
Daily Warehouse Operations Oversight
Oversee daily warehouse operations, including pick/packing, shipping, receiving, dropship, and put away.
Communicate expectations and ensure adherence to proper handling procedures and safety protocols to all warehouse staff and team leads.
Maintain the highest service standards for customers, prioritizing urgent or aging orders.
Work closely with Operations Team Members to ensure timely delivery of goods to customers.
Inventory Management
Conduct regular audits of inventory accuracy through scheduled inventory cycle counts.
Understands the principles of inventory control to ensure adherence to procedures that ensure a high degree of inventory accuracy.
Ensure accurate reception and delivery of all inbound materials, including supplies.
People Management, Development & Coaching
Lead, manage and hold accountable warehouse supervisors and staff.
Demonstrate strong people management skills, including delegation, motivation, and team leadership.
Coach and train warehouse staff on best practices to achieve KPI targets and ensure inventory accuracy.
Communicate expectations and provide ongoing feedback to team members.
Workflow Optimization
Execute warehouse realignment to create an efficient and streamlined workflow, focusing on bin optimization.
Create an environment focused on continual improvement, both strategically and tactically.
Utilize strong problem-solving skills and technical expertise to drive process improvements
Safety and Compliance
Assess risks in the workplace and ensure safety regulations are followed.
Provide regular safety talks and promote a culture of safety within the facility.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
Proven experience in warehouse or plant management, with 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience.
Strong technical skills and experience working with spreadsheets and data management tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong understanding of warehouse operations, safety regulations, and inventory management best practices.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Superior communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, along with the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
Ability to solve complex problems by actively seeking information and new ideas from a variety of sources; systematic and objective evaluation of information consistently looking for novel ways to solve problems; and mastering unfamiliar information, tasks, and situations quickly and effectively.
Effective attention to detail with a calm and steady demeanor and a high degree of accuracy under pressure.
Intermediate computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office Suite of Products, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
Experience with hazardous waste management and Clean Air Act reporting.
Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred.
