Put your career into high gear with Mavis Discount Tire! We’re looking for a full-time Director, Fleet Management to join Team Mavis at our Operations Support Center in Millwood, New York. With over 800 retail locations, Mavis is the one of the largest independently-held tire sales and automotive repair chains in the United States.
About the Position of Director, Fleet Management
The Director of Fleet Management focuses on achieving corporate cost containment through the implementation of both short-term and long-term business objectives and the effective management of all fleet and maintenance activities for company vehicles, including expense control, fuel usage, and the implementation of security, tracking, training and safety standards. By leading a team of a Fleet Manager and Fleet Technicians and working with Distribution Center leaders, the Director of Fleet Management must confirm proper licensing of drivers and verify compliance with applicable DOT regulations, including the use of electronic logging devices. The Director of Fleet Management is also responsible for leveraging the use of fleet management software programs to schedule routine and preventative maintenance and annual inspections to ensure DOT compliance. The Director of Fleet Management must review the safety, maintenance and cleanliness of the fleet and related work areas through regular on-site inspections at the company’s Distribution Centers and wholesale operations and by establishing preventive on-site maintenance programs.
By consulting with and providing expert advice to the Director, Warehouse, Logistics and Distribution, the Director of Fleet Management will implement, manage and maintain an efficient, cost-effective and safe corporate fleet.

Qualifications

To be eligible for the position of Director of Fleet Management, you must (1) be at least 18 years of age; (2) be legally authorized to work in the United States; (3) possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Transportation / Logistics Management; (4) have five to ten years of progressive experience managing a fleet of at least 500 vehicles; (5) possess working knowledge of DOT regulations and requirements; (6) demonstrate working knowledge of Fleet Management software and programs; and, (7) possess excellent leadership and managerial skills.
