Job Summary:
It is the primary responsibility of the Facilities Technician to perform preventive and ongoing maintenance of the casino and back of house areas within the property including but not limited too, plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental policies, practices and procedures as well as applicable OSHA Safety Guidelines as required by law.
Minimum Qualifications:
The team member in this role will have to have the ability to multitask while providing excellent care to our building and the equipment attached. The ideal candidate for this position is someone who loves taking things apart and putting them back together while taking pride in the facility as a whole.
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
- Must have at least 2 years of general maintenance experience, and at least 2-5 years of specialized experience in plumbing, HVAC, dry wall repair, basic and/or advanced electrical and carpentry skills, or other specialized experience in facilities maintenance.
- Ability to demonstrate basic computer skills.
- Assist in safety inspections as needed and or as directed by the Safety Committee.
- Ability to pay close attention while working.
- Must have basic understanding of major power and hand tools.
- Must demonstrate excellent safety awareness and understand limitations for both themselves and the equipment.
- Must be reliable and able to work independently with or without direct supervision on a normal basis.
- Must be able to prioritize work based on guest and team member safety, comfort, and state/local requirements.
- Must be a self starter and be able to find work during periods of downtime/no assignments.
- Valid NV Driver's License is required and must be obtained before entering this position.
- A proven ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the General Manager.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete daily tasks and projects as assigned by the Chief Engineer.
- Inspect fire extinguishers and fire protection systems on a normal and constant basis to ensure 100% operational status.
- Assist the IT department in relocating and/or installing computer equipment, ethernet lines, phone lines, and other wiring needs.
- Process and complete assigned work orders by other team members and department heads as needed.
- Run preventative maintenance tasks on all machines and equipment assigned.
- Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs while prioritizing work.
- Perform general repairs including but not limited too: repairing drywall, painting, repairing doors and other building fixtures.
- Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
- Replace lighting fixtures and bulbs as needed to ensure constant and correct lighting is achieved throughout the property.
- Cleans and assists with upkeep of the property as needed. Act as a backup to housekeeping and porters in the event of major spills or clean up situations.
- Evaluate operational systems and facility infrastructure to ascertain and submit proposals and ideas to improve operational efficiencies.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment ranging from but not limited too heating and cooling systems, refrigeration and restaurant equipment, and electrical panels.
- Coordinate department managers to assist in reaching project goals as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
