Your Project:
Maxar Space is seeking a System Administrator Intern. In this role you will be assisting with the administration of mission control, flight software, and test systems utilized for satellite development and test. In particular, you will be responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining Linux (CentOS, Debian and Ubuntu) on servers and end-user stations. Additional duties may include repairing/building computers, making network connections, writing scripts, and writing automation for computer configuration.
An ideal applicant is one who is excited to be onsite getting their hands on physical hardware as well as configuring and supporting a diverse set of computational needs.
This position will provide you the opportunity to work with a great team on exciting projects which help support the design, manufacture, test, launch, and control of our satellites.
Placement of individual interns within each of these systems engineering roles will be based on intern's background, intern's areas of interest, and Maxar need.

Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program with completion of two years or more. Relevant degree programs include: Computer Science, Engineering, and other relevant information technology fields
- Familiarity with Linux Systems environments
- Familiarity in computer hardware, replacing disks, memory, CPU's, GPU's, & PSU's
- Shell scripting knowledge would be a great asset to this position, Bash and/or Perl / Python
- Interest in building infrastructure as code
These skills would be amazing:
- Interest in IP based networking, subnets, switching, hardware and cabling
- Interest in the ability to setup and configuration of operating systems
- Knowledge of HTTP(S), SMTP, LDAP, DNS, DHCP, NTP and other internet protocols
- Familiarity with software compilers and other software development tools

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate's unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:
