Responsibilities:
- Financial Oversight: Manage and provide financial oversight for multiple community association clients, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and association bylaws.
- Budget Preparation: Collaborate with association boards and managers to develop annual budgets, incorporating expenses, assessments, reserves, and projected income.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate financial statements, reports, and other relevant financial documentation for client associations, presenting them to the board members and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Audits and Reconciliations: Conduct regular audits of financial records, bank reconciliations, and financial transactions to identify discrepancies, ensure accuracy, and maintain the integrity of financial information.
- Adjustments and Analysis: Perform adjustments, journal entries, and financial analysis to identify trends, irregularities, and opportunities for improvement in the financial performance of client associations.
- Tax Compliance: Coordinate with external tax professionals for the preparation and filing of tax returns for client associations, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Financial Policy Development: Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures, providing recommendations to improve internal controls and financial management practices.
- Client Communication: Serve as a key point of contact for client associations regarding financial matters, responding to inquiries, providing financial guidance, and building strong client relationships.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is preferred but not required.
- Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in a community association management, property management, or real estate environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data accurately and provide meaningful insights.
- Detail-oriented and organized, capable of managing multiple clients and prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
