Duties / Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for identifying and documenting business requirements and processes, including providing clarification on any requirement discrepancies.
- Understands business problems and opportunities in the context of requirements and recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.
- Reviews and edits requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to new processes, functionality, and/or proposed solutions
- Extracts, tabulates, and analyzes data to support program activity and assist in management decision making.
- Identifies innovative strategies to create operational and/or system efficiencies.
- Works closely with business owners, operations, users, and systems staff to define requirements, test criteria, and success factors.
- Documents and reviews all business process flows.
- Executes effective business meetings with internal project staff as well as client staff, as appropriate.
- Works effectively with internal and external business partners in the delivery of solutions.
- Identifies, analyzes, and communicates all system and process defects.
- Provides production support for Operations
- Monitors process data to identify potential system and process issues.
- Monitor JIRA tickets in queue for efficiency
- Responsible for adhering to established safety standards
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Occasionally lifts, carries, or otherwise moves items weighing up to 25 pounds
- Work is constantly performed in an office environment
- Performs other duties as assigned by management
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience
Background & Experience Required:
- 3 years of similar work experience in business analysis, identifying and documenting business requirements to support business processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work with business and systems teams to develop business requirements for system design and development.
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully with business owners to understand business needs and document business processes
- Demonstrated ability to successfully prioritize and execute many complex tasks simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
- Demonstrated strong analytical/statistical skills
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems quickly and accurately
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team member, as well as independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, Access, and other computer software applications.
- Knowledge of Medicaid managed care, the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), HIPAA compliance, and New York program, social service, geographic, and demographic environments, preferred.
- Knowledge of call center operations preferred.
- Experience facilitating joint application development (JAD) sessions, preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of Business Process Modeling, preferred.
