The overall main responsibility of the Project Manager is to ensure that a particular project is progressing as it should be.
The primary function of a project manager is to make sure projects run smoothly. An ideal set of duties for the PM role within the ITOps/oCIO org would consist of assisting and overseeing Project Teams as assigned and assisting the other Project Managers in defining and executing processes related to all phases of project execution and Agile methodology.

The Senior Project Manager is directly aligned with their Technical Director and coordinates all resources assigned to that Program. To include the following:
What Projects are created
What Project Coordinators and Project Managers are assigned to Projects
Demand Creation
Provide leadership and be a resource to Project Coordinators and ProjectManagers
Assist Coordinators, Project Managers, and their Technical Leads as needed with defining and managing team goals and project schedules.
Assist Coordinators and Project Managers in evaluating potential problems, blockers, and new/changing information as they are brought forward and develop solutions.
Oversee development of Coordinators and Project Managers
Foster cross functional team collaboration.
Lead recurring standups for PMO team within oCIO across all Programs
Monitor the scheduling and execution of Agile related meetings, processes standups, sprint planning, and SCRUM.
Continuously refine these processes to better support Agile Teams.
Review in flight projects and help in keeping projects on schedule.
Communicate project updates to senior leadership and or Stakeholders
Own, with the Project Coordinators and Project Managers, project reports and documentation
Work with Project Coordinators, Project Managers, and Program Director to provide identified Project reports desired by Management to include:
Status Report as required.
Risk Register
Financial reporting
Resource Management
Review weekly reports to ensure that all Project elements are being entered into the Project and updated.
Enhance department by accepting ownership over new and different cross functional demands and exploring opportunities to add value.
Qualifications:
High school degree or GED Required
10 years of leadership experience.
10 years as a Project Manager
Communication proficiency, coaching, organizational skills, initiative, team player, decision making, time management, and thoroughness.
Adopts Project Management Best Practices. The Senior Project Manager, is responsible for defining, teaching, and enforcing the use of projectmanagement practices.
Manages project priorities and performs risk management. The Senior Project Manager understands all projects being worked towards closure. The Senior Project Manager is dedicated to addressing the Project's top priorities.
