Job Details

Our manufacturing team in Roanoke is seeking a Maintenance Technician to handle all preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on machinery and production equipment. This position is ideal for growth. Past leadership experience is a plus. The Maintenance Technician will be a reliable point of contact for their mechanical expertise to ensure that production equipment and other machinery is always in operable conditions. The candidate will play a vital role in helping an innovative business reach its MAXXimum potential.

FULL-TIME Shift: Mondays-Fridays from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm

Saturdays- TBD based on production schedule

Matching 401K plan applicable to all employees that are eligible after one year with full-time status.

Principal Duties/ Major Responsibilities:

¨ Work in synergy with the CEO, Quality Control Team, & Management in the daily operations of machinery, tools, and equipment on the manufacturing floor

¨ Assures preventive maintenance program is conducted on all plant equipment

¨ Diagnoses and employs proper procedure of troubleshooting to determine when parts need replacement and when repairs are necessary

¨ Performs preventive maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and takes corrective actions to repair and returns equipment to service while minimizing machine down time

¨ Perform mechanical duties such as repair and preventive maintenance of pumps, valves, conveyors, sprockets, gear boxes, welding and fabrication (arc, MIG, TIG)

¨ Assists with the installation of new equipment as assigned

¨ Assists production workers in diagnosing malfunctions in systems and equipment

¨ Escorts contractors while in the production floor on scheduled visits

¨ End of day maintenance report; to meet efficiency goals

¨ Documents daily maintenance activities and ensures that all safety, GMP, and OSHA rules are followed and enforced

¨ Completes paperwork accurately

¨ Ability to plan and prioritize workload

¨ Ensures that job duties and responsibilities are performed in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications:

¨ Technical School graduate preferred

¨ High School diploma or GED

¨ Two (2) years previous industrial maintenance/electrical experience required. Food manufacturing experience preferred.

¨ Knowledge of local, state, and federal electric codes

¨ Experience installing, programming, and troubleshooting the following: Electrical conduit, cables, piping, and tubing, including all necessary connections, controls, and grounding.

¨ Knowledgeable in Good Manufacturing Practices

¨ Knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing

¨ Food Safety knowledge a plus (Company will train)

¨ Ability to safely operate and maintain equipment with a high degree of precision and control in a work environment where product quality is of the highest priority.

¨ Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)

¨ Experience teaching and training others

¨ Organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

¨ Strong and effective communication skills – verbal and written

¨ Confident reporting to management (line performance, line status/issues, personnel problems, etc.) and willingness to recommend solutions.

¨ Sense of urgency

¨ Attention to detail

¨ Reliable transportation

¨ Be able to lift at least 50 lbs. regularly

¨ Reliable, predictable attendance is required

¨ Employee must have the ability to climb stairs and be on their feet for long periods of time.

¨ Must have a practical working knowledge of basic arithmetic functions (multiplication, division, addition, subtraction)

WORKING CONDITIONS

Candidates must be accustomed to working in a manufacturing plant with varying temperatures. This position is subject to noise from machinery. It will require varying degrees of personal protective equipment, including steel-toed boots, earplugs, gloves, lab coats, masks, and safety glasses or goggles.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
