Job Summary
Mayfly Outdoors is looking for an Accountant I who will maintain full accounting responsibility for assigned departments and funds to ensure financial transactions, records, statements, payroll, and reports comply with generally accepted accounting principles. Assists in preparation of Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). Works with management to design and implement solutions to resolve accounting and internal control issues and problems.

Job Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- (A/P)Match invoices, purchase orders and receiving documents for accuracy and correctness
- Reconcile statements and resolve invoice & payment issues
- Determine sales tax status of all purchases and prepare appropriate documentation for exempt purchases and use tax
- Process payments timely
Accounts Receivable (A/R)
- Invoice customer shipments daily for US companies – this includes web, phone and dealer orders
- Process customer payments via wire, check, ACH and credit cards
- Research and resolve discrepancies
- Actively manage customer receivables including collections
- Process customer credits and refunds
- Work with Sales Team and Director of Accounting for dealer credit management
Prepare sales and use tax returns and make payments to multiple jurisdictions
Assist with preparation of cash flow projections and associated supplemental reports
Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for two companies
- Reconcile quarterly payroll tax reports to general ledger
- Process 401k payments
- Employee benefit accounting and recordkeeping
Assist with month-end closing
- Reconciliation of accounts
- Journal entries
- Bank reconciliations
- Intercompany journal entries & reconciliation
- Calculation of commissions and royalties
- Calculation of excise tax
- Assist with preparation of financial reports
Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- Minimum Associate's degree in accounting, business administration, or related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience
- Advanced computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, such as Excel spreadsheets and Google Sheets.
- A solid understanding of financial processes such as bookkeeping and tax filing
- Advanced math skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good organizational and time management skills
- The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy
- Advanced experience with ERP systems, NetSuite is preferred
- Outdoor industry experience plus
- Strong communication, and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail is imperative for success in this position
- Balance multiple tasks while managing time efficiently
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
