As the Cost Estimator you will take the lead to analyze customer drawings, specifications, proposals, CAD models and related inputs collaborating with manufacturing & application engineers to validate design for manufacture (DFM) and prepare detailed bill of material (BOM), process routings, material costs, equipment set-up times, intercompany costs, tooling requirements with the end goal to roll-up a final product cost estimate to ensure MEC quote’s products profitability. This position will require cross functional engagement with customers, purchasing, manufacturing, sales, finance, and leadership. In addition, this position will support continuous improvement and documentation of routing processes / quote tables by part attributes and machine capabilities and support best in class supplier competitiveness.
Associate Degree (A.A.) from a technical college or HS Diploma with significant work experience and post-high school courses related to Industrial or Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred. A minimum of three to seven years of experience in tubular products, metal paint/metal finish and sheet metal fabrication and assembly are a plus.
