Tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities
- Perform dimensional inspections from customer drawings with some complexity of GD&T and visual inspection throughout the fabrication and assembly process.
- Experience with measuring tools – caliper, venires, micrometers, mil thickness gage, CMM experience preferred.
- Documents, files and maintains inspection records as well as other quality assurance documents.
- Effectively document and control all Non-Conforming Material. Initiates, distributes and assists in resolution of non-conforming product issues including handling of quarantine, on hold and rejected materials.
- Interface with quality department, engineering and purchasing, team leads on quality issues and report out.
- Report to and sometimes lead various meetings through the work week
Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent; six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE ABILITY
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
MATH ABILITY
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to use measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, tape measures, etc; must be able to read blueprints
