What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lathe Operator - 2nd Shift position at MB&A?
Responsibilities:
- Independently set up and operate Swiss-type lathes.
- Work independently to produce medical implants according to technical drawings, test plans, and work instructions.
- Document and inspect manufactured products to ensure they meet our high-quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and care for assigned CNC machines. Identify, rectify, and report functional and production faults.
- Actively participate in improving our production processes.
- Implement corrective measures, make program changes to the control system, and monitor ongoing production.
- Operate multiple CNC machines simultaneously to maximize efficiency.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork skills, a conscientious work ethic, and a deep commitment to quality.
- Perform all other duties necessary to support ongoing production.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience operating CNC machines, preferably Tornos and/or Traub Swiss-type lathes.
- Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, test plans, and work instructions.
- Experience with precision machining and quality control procedures for medical devices is a strong plus.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, safety protocols, and good manufacturing practices.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
