Position Summary
As a Tax Staff in MBAF’s Private Wealth Services group, your primary responsibility will be working on individual, trust and estate, partnership, S Corporation, C Corporation and foreign tax returns. You will also act as a vital resource for your team assisting with specific tax-related client questions, meeting performance goals set by managers, preparing tax plans and estimates, and responding to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities.
Responsibilities
- Analyze data and prepare work papers and tax returns based on professional standards for high net worth individuals and related entities.
- Identify, research, and assess various tax issues while also providing information to seniors and managers.
- Prepare and review annual and quarterly income tax requirements.
- Assist with tax planning, research and consulting engagements as requested.
- Complete basic research pertaining to applicable accounting standards.
- Provide ongoing status updates to direct supervisor.
- Deliver exceptional client services.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (150 semester hours of education preferred)
- CPA or eligibility to sit is highly desirable
- Strong academic track record
- Relevant work experience (i.e. internships, summer positions, school jobs)
- Client service oriented
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
- Work additional hours and travel to various client sites as needed
