What are the responsibilities and job description for the CONTROLS TECHNICIAN position at MCC?
Multi Craft Contractors is looking for an experienced Controls Technician with a good work ethic and wants to move their career forward.
The Service Division of Multi Craft Contractors provides turnkey solutions to the commercial and industrial markets. We have long-term relationships within Northwest Arkansas and a reputation for providing quality service and installations with integrity using industry best practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Competent in the Tridium Niagara environment.
· Competent in front-end graphical interfaces.
· Competent in various networks: twisted pair, BBMD, VPN’s, etc.
· Experience in programming DDC controllers like Honeywell, JCI or Distech.
· Experience in commissioning and troubleshooting DDC systems.
· Must have a thorough understanding of HVAC systems sequence of operations. (i.e. Hydronics, AHUs, VAVs, etc.)
· Provide technical support, service and assistance with DDC projects and retrofits.
· Must have a thorough understanding and the ability to interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to implement a functional system while ensuring specifications are being followed.
· Diagnosing problems and making repairs to building automation systems.
· Knowledge of basic construction methods.
· Dismantle malfunctioning systems and test components, using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing equipment.
· Read blueprints to determine location, size, capacity, and type of components needed to build a functioning control system.
· Understand and operate tools, meters, gauges, and other testing equipment associated with control systems.
· Keep records of repairs and replacements made and document causes of malfunctions.
· Must be self-motivated and possess strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
· Ability to work both independently and in teams as needed.
· Good math, communication, and computer skills are essential.
· Physical condition is important, as this job will require lifting and carrying equipment, as well as standing, kneeling, or stooping for long periods of time.
· Collaborate with management team to maintain MCC’s technical abilities and reputation in the marketplace.
· Keep management informed of progress by keeping daily logs.
· Willingly provide insight, suggestions, and methods to improve MCC as a company.
· Proactively take on other tasks, as needed.
· Complete tasks accurately and on time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum of 5-10 years of related work experience.
· Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check, as well as a search of motor vehicle records and DOT physical.
· Must be willing to relocate to Northwest Arkansas.
· The hours of work can vary depending on the project.
· Travel is minimal but required as needed.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Compensation is $72,800 - $93,600 based on experience plus overtime after 8 hours, time and a half on Saturdays and double time on Sundays plus relocation allowance. A company vehicle with gas card, tablet, and cell phone plus major tools of the trade are provided. Ongoing training with opportunity for advancement.
