Administrative Assistant
McCain Consulting, Inc, a local, family owned consulting and engineering firm in Waterbury is seeking an administrative assistant/bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, self-motivated, team-oriented and flexible, has a strong work ethic and the ability to work within deadlines. This position requires proficiency with Microsoft Office, BlueBeam and Quickbooks. Responsibilities to include general office support, bookkeeping, data base and social media maintenance.
Essential Functions:
- Perform routine administrative functions for staff members
- Data entry into Quickbooks
- Assist in monthly reconciliations
- Create correspondence as requested
- Data entry for various state and local permitting applications
- Database maintenance for project status
- Maintain client files both electronic and physical
- Ability to update company website and social media presence
- Scan and archive previous client files
- Answer and direct phone calls and inquiries

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Predominately sedentary light office position with high frequency of keyboarding/computer
work required (67% - 100%) of the workday;
- Ability to hear and verbally communicate effectively with customers and team members
- Ability to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time.
- Use hands, fingers, and arms, to safely data entry;
- Lift and carry office supplies or filing boxes weighing 25 lbs or more;
- Climb up and down stairs;
