The Commerce Content Editor will be responsible for curating, creating, and optimizing content for our eCommerce platform. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including writers, designers, and marketing specialists, to ensure that our eCommerce content aligns with our brand voice, engages our audience, and drives conversion. The ideal candidate will have a strong editorial background, a keen understanding of eCommerce best practices, and a passion for creating content that resonates with consumers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Content Creation and Curation:
  • Write multiple smart and engaging stories with a strong voice and point of view throughout.
  • Assign and edit multiple stories from staffers and freelancers
  • Build posts daily in the CMS.

SEO Optimization:
  • Work closely with the SEO to aid in the production of product listings based on keyword optimization and affiliate relationships
  • Stay informed about industry trends and algorithm changes to ensure continuous optimization of eCommerce content.

Quality Assurance:
  • Conduct thorough reviews of product listings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address and resolve content-related issues promptly.

Performance Analysis:
  • Understand analytics metrics used to track the performance of Commerce content and implement actions to improve conversion rates.
  • Monitor user feedback, reviews, and customer behavior to iterate on content strategies.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in eCommerce editing or content creation within a media or retail environment.
  • Understanding of SEO principles and experience implementing SEO strategies.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail and brand consistency.
  • Familiarity with eCommerce platforms and content management systems.
  • Proficiency in using analytics tools to measure content performance.
  • Creativity and innovation in developing engaging and informative content.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • An understanding of audience trends and digital media. Ability to correctly identify audiences for selected stories.
  • Understanding of how to use analytics such as subscriber conversion, page views, time on site and referral sources to help determine which stories resonate with which audiences.
  • Ability to prioritize and to work under and meet short- and long-deadlines in a fast-paced, data-driven work environment and to accurately fact-check information
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and team player skills. Excellent communication and active listening skills.
  • Ability to work well, be professional and courteous with a variety of editors, staff at all levels, and the public.
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office, Digital editing, web search, databases)
  • Ability to work a flex schedule including nights and weekends
  • Must be able to work remotely while contributing to a team environment
  • Regular and reliable attendance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; preferably in journalism, or the equivalent education, experience, skills and knowledge needed to perform the tasks and responsibilities of the position.

2-3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Minimum qualifications: Include minimum work experience desired, years of experience in field or in comparable fields; educational requirements and/or certifications and licenses; supervisory experience needed; computer skills; and desired work traits (ability to work independently, etc.).
