This new hire will work in Sparrows Point at the new state of the art Logistics Center, located in Sparrows Point, MD. The QA Crew Leader will report to a Team Manager. The shift for this role is Monday - Friday 6 am - 2 pm .

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the direction of the QA Team Manager, sets the example of team leadership within a HPO environment. Ensures overall performance of the team to include quality, safety, reliability, waste and sanitation to achieve business goals. Pro-actively encourages continuous improvement and daily problem solving initiatives to increase operational effectiveness and efficiencies. Coaches, trains, and ensures compliance to plant established procedures (including work rule, safety and sanitation guidelines) while demonstrating a deep respect for the capabilities of all people. Ensures that all activities follow documented operating procedures and recommends updates to existing procedures as required. Daily communication with Production/Processing Team Managers to resolve process & material related issues & coordinates QA activities to facilitate Industrial orders. Ensures product meets quality standards. Develops resolution for disposition of discrepant material. Coordinates & schedules crew vacation requests & overtime. Determines needs and conducts training required for new & existing employees. Performs job tasks of other team members of jobs of equal or lower grades. Facilitates teamwork and coaching among team members. Holds meetings for problem solving and team development
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent attendance required.
Meets standards in overall performance rating in most recent performance review.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Three years of manufacturing, quality and/or industrial experience required.
Demonstrated ability to understand financial impact of business decision affecting staffing, product components and inventory required.
Ability to perform sensory testing on all products, including taste testing of alcoholic & high salt based items required. Ability to distinguish color & aroma variations required.
Demonstrated ability to pro-actively encourage continuous improvement and daily problem solving initiatives.
Proven ability to coach, train and influence while demonstrating a deep respect for the capabilities of all people required.
Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills required
Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking skills to determine risk assessment required.
Ability to work overtime/weekends required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated experience with analytical testing & equipment, including Bulk Index machines and balances required. Understanding of Statistical Process Control preferred.
Demonstrated computer skills, including knowledge of Excel, Word, statistical database applications & Lotus Notes required. Knowledge of SAP, Infinity, Power Point, Access preferred.
Demonstrated practice of leadership principles required and formal leadership training strongly preferred.
Demonstrated competency to operate all equipment in the business strongly preferred.
Experience effectively leading and facilitating team and cross-functional meetings strongly preferred.
