Environmental Planner

Who we’re looking for
McCormick Taylor has an exciting mid to senior level Environmental Planner position immediately available to support our Pennsylvania, Maryland, and/or Virginia transportation markets. Given the nature of our work environment, base office assignment is flexible. We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about communities and their transportation needs to work and grow with our talented environmental group. 

Responsibilities:

• Aid in the completion of studies in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Section 4(f) of the U.S. Department of Transportation Act, Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, and other related state and federal regulations
• Perform socioeconomic and environmental justice impacts analyses
• Act as a liaison with internal design disciplines as well as regulatory and resource agencies
• Assist with public involvement activities and meetings
• Travel occasionally to conduct field work and attend in-person meetings

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies, Planning, or related field
• 7-15 years of professional experience with transportation NEPA documentation and other related environmental laws and requirements, including Section 4(f), Section 106, Section 6(f), and environmental justice 
• Working knowledge of FHWA and/or FTA and PennDOT, MDOT SHA, and/or VDOT environmental policies and procedures 
• Excellent oral and written communication skills 
• Strong analytical skills
• High level of attention to detail and work quality
• Ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams
