McCravy, Newlon, Sturkie, and Clardy Law Firm is seeking a Social Security Paralegal (Case Manager) to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic law firm and to be part of a growing firm. The ideal candidate will have experience in the legal field and will be comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively. The candidate must be detail oriented, self-motivated, organized, and have excellent communication skills. This position will also be responsible for running our Columbia office.

Social Security Case Manager

• Hours would be 9:00 to 5:00 or 8:00 to 4:00 (can be changed - can discuss)
• Would be responsible for handling a fluctuating caseload.
• Would be the prime point of contact for Social Security clients.
• Would be responsible for communicating monthly with each client throughout the life of their claim.
• Would be responsible for Filing appeals on time with the Social Security office.
• Would be responsible for assisting in obtaining necessary documentation for Social Security claims which may include medical records or doctor questionnaires, etc.
• Would be responsible for reviewing mail/fax as it comes in and completing any tasks related to it.
• Would be responsible for returning client phone calls within 24 hours if not the same day.
• Will work in a team of other Social Security, case managers and support staff reporting to the Social Security supervisor, and Social Security attorney directly.
• May be responsible to conduct intakes as a back up to the intake coordinator.
• Will be responsible for opening and closing our Columbia office
• Will be responsible for answering phone calls and greeting people as they come in.
• Will be the liaison between clients and different staff in our office to set up appointments as they are scheduled in the Columbia office.
• Any other tasks as directed by the supervisor or attorney
• Pay to be determined based on qualifications

Experience: Paralegal: 1 year (Preferred)

Education: Bachelor’s (Preferred)

Work Location: One location

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
