This role will collaborate closely with cybersecurity experts, market leads, project managers, and Global Technology Solutions teams to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of McDonald’s security services. In addition, this role will be responsible for managing and collaborating with the support teams that handle tickets and other operational tasks for McDonald’s security services. This person will work closely with others in Global Technology Risk Management and other areas of Global Technology to ensure that our services are meeting the needs of markets, application teams, and other stakeholders.

Job Description

The Sr SOC Manager will take charge of shaping the security operation center strategy and drive key initiatives to enhance incident response and security operations. You will be instrumental in building strong relationships with global partners and driving security strategy, while also being responsible for incident response and table-top exercises to enhance our cybersecurity posture. Your expertise will influence incident response strategy, playbook development, and program maturity. The ideal candidate will have a proven history of building strong relationships, identifying security gaps, and driving comprehensive security strategies in alignment with the organization's business goals.

You will be part of a specialized team that responds to complex security events around the world, as well as conduct cyber threat hunting in multifaceted environments, demonstrating a variety of tools and techniques. You will work in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment along with a diverse team of talent, in support of incident response, security operations, tabletop exercises, and educational forums.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a forward-thinking security strategy aligned with the organization's goals. Collaborate with global stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and robust security posture.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to enhance security cooperation, intelligence sharing, and threat awareness.
  • Lead and conduct regular table-top exercises to evaluate the effectiveness of incident response plans and identify areas for improvement.
  • Participate in the drafting and ultimate dissemination of finished tactical threat products (reports, briefings, and presentations)
  • Manage the Incident Response team and SOC operations. Oversee the investigation and resolution of security incidents as needed.
  • Establish security metrics aligned with performance goals and regulatory requirements. Monitor internal and external policies for compliance and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ensure effective vendor relationships and manage work to meet security requirements.
  • Develop and implement security standards and best practices across the organization to ensure a consistent and robust security posture.
  • Promote a culture of security awareness by providing guidance, training, and support to employees.
  • Recommend security enhancements to senior management, demonstrating the value of investments in cybersecurity.
  • Plan and execute appropriate protective measures to include policy, process, and overall cybersecurity awareness.
  • Mentor analysts to promote successful performance and career growth in alignment with department and GTRM objectives.
  • Direct collaboration with the Offensive Security team to support market-level testing of emerging threats correlated with McDonald’s security events.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT Security Incident Management, with a focus on global problem and incident management. Solid experience working with a SOC/NOC and legal operations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategy development, process optimization, and policy formulation.
  • In-depth understanding and practical application of the NIST Framework for Cybersecurity.
  • Proficient in project management and ITIL methodologies.
  • Strong commitment to cybersecurity and a sense of personal accountability for the organization's security posture.

Desired Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Security, or related disciplines
  • Security certifications: OSCP, SANS GIAC (GREM, GCFA, GCIH), CISSP
  • Strong analytic, qualitative, and quantitative reasoning skills
  • Excellent communication and people skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and partners.
