Controller

McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter, LLP, a full-service law firm with thirteen offices in nine states, seeks a full-time Controller in its Morristown, New Jersey office.

The Firm is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the operations of the Firm’s Accounting Department, which includes billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. The ideal candidate will have experience as an accountant with a strong background in the legal industry.

The Controller will be responsible for leading the daily finance operations of the Firm, including, but not limited to, preparing budgets, forecasts and financial statements, report generation and presentation to the Partnership, implementing and maintaining internal controls to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices, oversight of monthly close, and coordinating with the Firm’s outside accountants and auditors.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance;

• CPA Certification required;
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Finance and Accounting;
• Superior attention to detail; and
• Strong organization and communication skills.
