PRE OP TECHNICIAN

Hours 3:00am to 12:00pm, 5 days a week currently,

Main Responsibilities Pre-Operational Food Safety Technician

1. Pre-operation inspections to ensure all production equipment and tools are sanitary
   1. ATP testing
   2. Visual audits of processing environment and equipment
   3. Interact with sanitation management and crew to coordinate and verify proper corrective actions
   4. Prepare daily pre-operation reports
2. Basic laboratory duties
   1. Microbiological analysis of finished goods
   2. Microbiological analysis of raw product and various environmental samples as needed
   3. Environmental sampling and program maintenance
   4. Coordinate sample collection with quality department
   5. Daily sample log in and reporting
   6. Laboratory maintenance: troubleshooting equipment and logging in supplies
   7. Maintain daily logs
3. Support human and food safety
   1. Comply with all safety policies and procedures
   2. GMP auditing of the facility and employees as needed
   3. Assist management and executive teams with food safety concerns and initiatives
4. Problem solving
   1. Troubleshoot out of specification cleaned processing equipment as follow up to non-passing: Visual inspections, ATP inspections, and/or APC Zone 1 inspections
   2. Find and report physical issues with Processing equipment that may be a foreign material risk, a quality assurance risk and/or a situation that would prevent a piece of equipment from running efficiently and safely
   3. Interact with other leadership staff and workers to complete tasks, gather facts and offer suggestions related to problem solving
   4. Communicate action steps and evaluate, audit, and report the results
5. Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Pre-Operations Inspector

1. High School Diploma required
2. Previous food manufacturing or Food Safety / Quality Assurance experience is beneficial but not required
3. Mechanical knowledge or some mechanical background is a definite plus
4. Knowledgeable in microbiological processes and techniques or similar work is a plus
5. Strong communication skills
6. General computer skills such as Excel, Word, Outlook
7. Strong behaviors including, self-motivated, pride in job quality, continuous improvement oriented, time management and organizational skills
8. Capability of developing and progressing in the McEntire organization
9. Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds, climbing, bending, reaching into hard-to-get areas of a processing facility. Ability to climb ladders and stairs to complete pre-Operational inspections and equipment food safety assessments

Ability to work in a cold and wet environment.

Salary : $17 - $22
