What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Operator position at McGee Enterprises, Inc.?
We have an immediate need for direct hire employees in our Rock Hill facility to work a rotating 12-hour shift (shift is 7AM-7PM and 7AM-7PM, days per week change as well as shift assignment) and all employees must work overtime when needed.. Each month you'll have seven consecutive days off without having to take vacation time. No prior work experience is required (we will require a verifiable stable work history) but textile and previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. All candidates must pass a preemployment drug test and basic physical as well as have a verifiable high school diploma/GED and a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation. Additionally we will run a seven year criminal background check (all convictions of applicants are considered on a case-by-case basis, type of charge, frequency, recent nature of the charge, and moral turpitude will be taken in consideration, felonies involving violence, drug distribution, sex offenders and terroristic behavior will be heavily scrutinized). Per company policy all employees must pass a pulmonary function (breathing) test and be clean shaven (around the nose, lips and mouth) in order to be fit for a respirator
Compensation:
All new hires will start at $21.50/hour. Average progression thru the pay scale is for a proficient employee to be at $22.50/hour within a year, $23.69/hour within two years and $26.37/hour within three years. Our current pay rate for a lead technician is $32/hour. A $1000 bonus will be paid at 91st calendar day of employment, if employee passes probationary review. A 4% ( /-) annual merit increase (similar to cost of living) will be paid that is performance based. Global Performance Sharing Bonus is paid annually to all employees after 1st year.
Shift:
Shift rotates from 7AM-7PM to 7PA-7AM and employees are paid for 12 hours per shift and overtime for all hours over 40 weekly. Overtime is available as needed to meet production goals. Standard weekly hours will be 36 or 48, depending on the week
Physical requirements::
Standing 8 hours per day. Squatting, kneeling and good dexterity with fingers. Work environment is indoors but non-climate control.
Benefits:
80 hours vacation and 80 hours personal time (prorated in year of hire). Education assistance after one year. 16 weeks parental leave for birth or adoption after six months of service. Long pants, shirt with some type of sleeve (traditional short at a minimum), safety shoes and safety glasses are required. Company will provide uniforms free of charge, employees are not required to wear them. Company will also pay for a pair of safety shoes, an eye exam and one pair of prescription safety glasses annually. There is a 401K program as well as a stock purchase matching program.
Additional:
No cell phones on floor, employees are allowed to use phones on break and lunch in breakroom only. Biannual performance reviews will be completed on all employees.
