McGraw Hill, the leading provider of digital and print educational solutions, is looking for a Product Manager – Literacy, within our K-12 division. The Product Manager must have deep customer empathy and the unique ability to champion the voice of the customer and advocate for the interests of the business at the same time.
You will be contributing to and executing a product strategy that is deeply aligned to customer & market needs, growth opportunities, and corporate strategies.

How can you make an impact?
As a Product Manager for Elementary English and Spanish Language Arts you’ll support the vision, strategy, development, and delivery of market-leading elementary literacy solutions. You champion the voice of the customer and provide leadership to a large project team to maintain a consistent product vision.
You will synthesize large amounts of information and often overlapping priorities to drive positive business outcomes based on research, data, and industry trends. You will operate in an environment that requires excellent problem-solving skills and exceptional team collaboration, facilitation, and communication skills. You must be energized through meaningful collaboration with cross-functional teams, including content experts, project managers, business managers, and product marketing managers.
A typical day might include:
- You will own the Product Strategy & Product Delivery by understanding the customer needs and market/competitive landscape.
- Contribute to the product vision, roadmap timeline, business goals, and lifecycle management.
- Facilitate ongoing research to support effective investments and support the product leadership in evaluating new ventures and opportunities within the team’s assigned segment.
- Clearly articulate the business case for new products, extending a product line, or enhancing an existing offering.
- Manage overall financial and product performance, work on managing a profitable P&L and develop a strategic business plan for the assigned portfolio.
- Lead cross-functional groups in solution design, concept development, and decision-making on a component array.
- Define and prioritize product requirements, serve as an internal/external spokesperson, participate in go-to-market strategy, support the product launch, and continuously monitor product performance, the competitive environment, and market changes.
What can you bring to the role?
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 2 years of experience in product management, product development, product strategy, or product delivery environment.
- Ability to approach planning and execute in a strategic, organized, and fiscally responsible manner.
- Ability to analyze, summarize and synthesize varied inputs and thus form cohesive, engaging solutions that are profitable; must think and act strategically while demonstrating the hands-on skills necessary to deliver high-quality product solutions.
- Experience in education, instructional pedagogy, or ed-tech preferred.
The average base salary range for this position is around $75,000 – $100,000 annually, however, base salary pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. An annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, such as a company provided vehicle, depending on the position offered. This information is provided per the New York City Pay Transparency Bill and the Colorado Equal Pay Act.
