We are looking for a collaborative Senior Project Manager who has a track record of successfully leading Product Development projects and process improvements
Your impact on team
Senior Project Managers are accountable and responsible for creating a product delivery plan for multiple complex or highly complex projects. They lead and coach cross-functional teams to develop iterative project and product scope, support business-case creation, map project and product dependencies, estimate and analyze effort and costs with cross-functional teams, support and analyze resource plans, and manage project risks and issues to resolution.
McGraw Hill School PMO applies agile project management practices through an iterative planning approach. As Senior Project Manager, you will partner with cross-functional teams to iteratively plan complex projects against market milestones. You will define project and product scope with the cross-functional team, cost and estimation, and incrementally create other portions of the project plan.
This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. It requires up to 10% occasional travel for the year.
What You'll Do
- You are required to have a depth of knowledge in and experience with creating project plans, including charter, stakeholder management plans, communication plans, milestones, project scope, decomposing work, workflows, time estimations, analyzing resource capacity aligned to project work across multiple projects or programs, cost estimation and financial forecasting, and CRID logs (Change, Risk, Issue, Decision).
- Work in a variety of planning modalities - e.g. Scrum, Kanban, and waterfall.
- Facilitate and coach project/team ceremonies
- Removing team/project impediments
- Shielding the team from interruptions
- Enforcing values and practices of agile (or other ways of working)
- Focus on continuous improvement
- Facilitating communication
- Ensuring the team has what they need to be successful.
What We Value/What You'll Need
- 5-7 years of professional project management experience during which at least 3 years spent independently leading and directing project tasks and teams.
- Adaptability and comfort/experience with being a facilitator of change.
- Advanced interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, strong multi-project communication, and stakeholder engagement guided by a positive approach.
- Advanced conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to influence at varying levels across the organization.
- Proactive problem-solving and escalation management.
- Thought leadership in the project management profession and serving as coach within the project management team.
- Strong commitment to operational excellence, passion for collaboration, and strategic focus on business priorities.
- Ownership of individual career growth, measuring and tracking personal success, mentoring peers, and leaning into professional development activities, where possible.
- Requires BA/BS or related experience; preferred certifications: PMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP, CSP
- Experience with the following tools: JIRA, Smartsheet, Confluence, Microsoft Suite

The pay range for this position is between $60,000 - $128,000 annually, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.An annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
