What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Engineer - Concrete position at McHugh Concrete?
Position Summary:
The Technical Engineer - Concrete will be responsible for surveying, installation of concrete formwork, and other duties as assigned by the Concrete Superintendent. Job environment is predominately outside and requires manual labor and ability to follow company safety policy. The Technical Engineer - Concrete will report to the Concrete Superintendent.
As Technical Engineer - Concrete you will:
- Problem solve with an aptitude in math (Third level qualification in a mathematical inclined field a plus).
- Complete tasks in MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, or Tekla structures.
- Work on your own initiative with others to complete tasks.
- Follow the company safety management and organization standards.
- Complete assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
- Need to have the ability to stay calm under pressure and remain productive.
To be successful in this position, you will need:
- To be able to work as part of a team on large scale commercial projects as a site surveyor.
- To transmit job contract drawings to lines and grades in the field.
- To have knowledge on use of a total station and/or other surveying equipment to snap lines and grades for installation of concrete work.
- To know how to grade concrete formwork to designed elevations.
- To read/understand contract drawings.
- To assist carpenters in setting formwork, concrete, and other related items.
