About McIntosh: McIntosh is a packaging company that has been in business for over 58 years with 400 employees across twelve locations. We have seven in New York, two in West Virginia, one in Virginia, one in Maryland, and one in North Carolina. We are experiencing strong growth and need to expand our team. We are looking for a motivated and driven individual to join our team in our Palermo, NY location.

Main Purpose of Job: We are looking for a technically skilled individual with excellent attention to detail for the position of Production Lead. As a Production Lead, you will provide daily oversight of the day-to-day activities and personnel engaged in the manufacturing of our products within their assigned departments and ensure efficient operations. You will monitor production progress towards daily production goals and proactively look for and identify bottlenecks, delays and other issues seeking to resolve issues or bring them to the attention of the Plant Manager. You will retain and maintain technical and functional knowledge of parts and assemblies to perform, train, and supervise product production. As a “hands-on” Production Lead, you will work in the production line or in shipping & receiving, or other factory related jobs, as needed, to cover absences, to assist in continuous improvement initiatives and in order to ensure customers product orders are completed, of high quality and shipped on time.
Duties:

· Ability to lead a team to meet critical schedules and resolve technical issues

· Applies appropriate structured problem-solving methods and techniques to improve performance of assigned area

· Develop and mentor personnel by providing coaching, guidance, and training

· Proactively enforces a safe work environment by identifying and resolving risks and monitoring personnel to ensure all safety precautions are in place and being followed

· Resolves or escalates issues in a timely manner, often involving the Plant Manager

· Identifies barriers and involves appropriate resources to resolve issues

· Run wood processing equipment such as Cut-Off saws, Notchers, and Stake Pointers

· Build specialty pallets and skids

· Operate a forklift

· Perform maintenance on equipment such as changing blades and greasing

· Keep production areas clean and organized

· Comply with company policies and safety guidelines

· Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facility

· Operate and manage technical equipment

Required Skills:
· Supervisory or leadership experience preferred

· Demonstrates ability to make decisions and solve problems.

· Good organizational skills

· Attention to detail

· Strong work ethic

· Reliable

· Eagerness to learn and lead

· Nail guns and saws experience preferred

· Ability to lift 50 lbs.

· Likes to work with hands

Shift: 12:00pm-8:30pm M-F
