McKendree Village is a non-profit retirement community that has proudly served the needs of Seniors in Middle Tennessee for 60 years. Located in Hermitage Tennessee, we provide a continuum of services including Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing and Long Term Care in a warm, compassionate and person centered manner. We are currently seeking a dynamic and engaging individual to serve as a part time Volunteer Coordinator to manage our volunteer program. As the Volunteer Coordinator you will be responsible for expanding volunteer opportunities on our campus and developing a robust program that improves the quality of life for our residents and supports the needs of our team. Responsibilities include:

  • Recruiting individuals and groups for volunteer service by engaging community contacts and networking with community organizations and resources.
  • Coordinating and conducting screening of volunteer service applicants, orientation and training of volunteers on specific assignments and supervising the day to day volunteer activities.
  • Collaborating with department directors and other team members to identify volunteer opportunities and fulfil volunteer assignments that meet the needs of the community.
  • Completing record keeping of volunteer activities and assignments including tracking volunteer hours and service and completing other management reports as needed.
  • Organizing and conducting volunteer recognition programs to acknowledge and celebrate the contributions our volunteers bring to our community.

Position hours are mainly Monday – Friday, with occasional weekend work.

The successful candidate must have

  • Top notch people skills; ability to easily relate to and connect with others.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, ability to use Microsoft office programs.

Other qualifications include:

  • High School Diploma and 2 years of experience in a related field; Prefer an associate degree in Marketing or related field and 1 year of related experience.
  • Valid Tennessee Drivers license with no restrictions.
