What you will do:
- Provides professional nursing care to assigned post-operative patients. Monitors vital signs, administers medications, including intravenous medications, and develops patient care plans in conjunction with surgeons and anesthesiologists.
- Provides support to patients waking up from anesthesia, including bandage maintenance, pain management, nausea treatment, and ensuring patients receive adequate rest, fluids, and nutrients.
- Observes patients' progress, records observations in patient medical records, and updates attending physicians directly when necessary.
- Teaches patients how to clean bandages, take medication, and follow post-surgical care instructions.
Responsibilities:
- Provides direct and indirect patient care in the surgery recovery room setting.
- Communicates with providers and co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
- Can respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Additionally, can perform general nursing duties in the surgery department with adequate supervision.
What you will need:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Registered Nurse Licensure, licensed in the State of North Dakota.
- Current BCLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Current PALS certification
- Preferred CPAN/ CAPA Certified
