Job Summary: Function in a team environment. Respond appropriately to emergencies. Good listening skills and ability to quickly develop rapport with a patient. Capable of patient evaluation, plan, intervention and re-evaluation. Administer treatments. Provide diagnosis-specific patient education. Meet documentation requirements. Work independently and have good time management. Organize and prioritize daily work. Sound judgment. Communication clearly: verbal, written, telephone and electronic. Effective and efficient use of computers. Meet safety needs of patients. Operate equipment. Participate in conferences, staff meetings, and in-services including community events and hospital staff in-services. Supervise assistants and students. Weekend inpatient rotation. Develop good working relationship with referral sources.
Educational/Licensing: Current licensure in the State of Oregon as a Physical Therapist. Current BLS certification required.
Qualifications: Depends upon the position being filled; could be acute inpatient experience, manual therapy skills, general orthopedic, Neuro rehab or new grad. Ability to develop treatment strategies based upon sound evaluative skills to provide the greatest therapeutic benefit for each patient. Implement program, monitor patient progress carefully, adjust treatment as needed to assist patients to achieve their greatest potential. High degree of written and verbal ability to instruct patients and prepare reports. Flexibility to handle variety of duties which may be interrupted and changed by immediate circumstances. Ability to work with others as an integral part of the rehabilitation team.
