The Director of Business Strategy will lead the evaluation and planning of strategic growth opportunities for McKesson’s Consumer e-commerce division. Working closely with senior executives and operators, this role will set the strategy for our business by shaping strategic growth opportunities that deliver incremental revenue and profit needed to achieve business targets.

In this highly visible role, you will architect and oversee the buildout and delivery of strategic growth opportunities to advance our mission in healthcare. Unlocking these growth opportunities are also critical to reaching our financial goal of increasing revenue by 3x over the next 3-4 years.
Responsibilities:
- Gather, interpret, analyze, and synthesize external market information such as customer needs, competing product offerings and pricing, and industry trends
- Conduct primary market research and analysis to estimate market sizes, segment customers by need, assess customer willingness to pay, and inform overall go-to-market strategy
- Assess capabilities of internal departments as well as external partners to determine optimal resourcing for delivery against growth opportunities
- Develop thorough business cases including estimation of the financial impact of growth opportunities
- Prepare for and facilitate workshops with stakeholders ranging from senior business leaders to front-line employees to effectively solicit input on strategies
- Illuminate decision pathways and recommend to senior executives the path forward on opportunities amid ambiguity and changing business priorities
- Lead the cross-functional planning and execution of opportunities, including change management, to ensure successful launch and operational uptake
- As needed, lead the planning and negotiation for external partnerships to drive them to completion
- Operate as a thought leader and trusted advisor to senior executives on pressing business issues
- Manage, influence, and develop team members without formal reporting authority
- Champion the e-commerce strategy within the broader business unit and enterprise to ensure effective internal collaboration and communication
Business Experience:
- 8 years of work experience in business planning, growth strategy, corporate strategy, product strategy, business transformation, or similar executive-facing analytical positions required
- Prior work experience in management consulting is highly desirable
- Industry experience in ecommerce, retail, distribution, manufacturing or supply chain preferred
- Hands-on experience working autonomously to deliver robust business cases for growth strategies, which draw on a mix of hard data and sensible assumptions
- Experience leading large cross-functional teams through complex business initiatives to successful outcomes
- Proven ability to navigate and get traction within a large, highly matrixed corporate environment
- Experience operating in a hybrid work environment (i.e. balancing remote and in-person work effectively)
Other Qualifications:
- Highly analytical, logical thinker comfortable charting a data-driven path forward amid ambiguity and changing priorities
- Skilled at influencing and building interpersonal relationships across the organization at all levels
- Strong numerical proficiency and business acumen
- Expert PowerPoint skills with ability to create slides that simplify complex topics and drive executive decision-making
- High degree of intellectual curiosity; ability to become an expert in new topics quickly where no expert exists
- Energized by the pursuit of excellence on every deliverable with a tireless attention to detail
- Strong executive presence and client friendly communication style
- Strong organizational and project management skills. This role requires both thinking and executing
- Passion for managing and developing junior team members
Education/Training:
- BA / BS in a business, finance, economics or a technical discipline required
- MBA or relevant graduate degree highly preferred but not required
Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
- PC Skills: Expertise in Microsoft Office Tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project, Visio, Outlook)
